About SLP

Gulfstream’s Student Leadership Program (SLP) is a four-year, life-changing and energy-filled experience for a select group of high school students who envision a bright future for themselves. The program provides students with the skills and tools necessary to build a successful future.

Launched in 2008, SLP was designed to help increase the graduation rate for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. The program has grown from its roots in Chatham County to include Glynn County Schools as well.

SLP students are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on them, their school, the community and SLP. They are required to remain in good standing at their school throughout the program.

SLP has immediate and long-range advantages for the students selected to participate. The program:

  • Equips students with tangible life skills to be successful after high school graduation.
  • Encourages higher grades, lifelong learning and a focus on personal development.
  • Develops the leadership skills of students to use in within their school and community.
